The mission of The Phoenix Theatre is:
To actively produce dynamic, top quality entertainment emphasizing humor to illuminate our common humanity and develop a fundamental appreciation for the magic of live theater.

The Phoenix Core, Vision and Goals:
To nourish the artistic vitality of our community by creating work that gives audiences an intimate theatrical experience built on community. To offer a home for artists to hone their craft and to nurture young talent and tormorrow's artistic leadership through internships and volunteer opportunities.

OUR HISTORY: Phoenix Theatre is a charming 96-seat theater located in theFirdale Village shopping area in beautiful Edmonds, Washington.  The Phoenix Theatre space was formerly occupied for 17 years by long time local favorite, The Edge of the World Theater.  Many of the current members of our artistic staff and actors had graced the Edge stage including Artistic Director and Phoenix Theatre founder Melanie Calderwood.  When The Edge closed its doors in the winter of 2008, Melanie with friend and business partner Debbie Palomera, began the foundation of The Phoenix Theatre.

After moving into the theater in late 2008, we underwent a major remodel to update our restrooms, audience space, and to give our lobby a major face lift. With tireless help from friends, actors, directors, and devoted patrons The Phoenix was reborn.  In January 2009, The Phoenix Theatre opened our doors with our first production, "Madness and Mayhem at the Phoenix!" A night of three spirited one acts that helped welcome old and new friends alike to The Phoenix Theatre and our company.  We have since continued to grow through five great seasons.  The Everett Herald has proclaimed us "...theater that's four-star funny." And raved that we are "...doing everything right."
